Informational characterization of dialogue states
نویسنده
چکیده
We introduce multidimensional feature structures as a generalization of standard slot/filler representations commonly employed in spoken language dialogue systems. Nodes in multidimensional feature structures contain an dimensional vector of values instead of one single filler element. The additional elements serve to represent, among other information, confidence measures of speech recognizers or the number of times a filler has been queried. We demonstrate the application of multidimensional feature structures to spoken dialogue systems. We show that unification based dialogue processing can be retained as long as the elements of the fillers are drawn from partially ordered sets. The dialogue manager employs a variant of constraint logic programming for representing dialogue strategies and update rules. The constraint logic program partitions the space of possible dialogue states in sets of states that are equivalent for the dialogue strategy.

Guiding the User when Searching Information on the Web
This paper describes how we approach the problem of guiding the user when accessing informational web services. We developed a mixed-initiative dialogue system that provides access to web services in several languages. In order to facilitate the adaptation of the system to new informational web services dialogue and task management were separated and general descriptions of the several tasks in...
متن کاملPartial Information in Multimodal Dialogue
Much research has been directed towards developing mul-timodal interfaces in the past twenty years. Many current multimodal systems, however, can only handle multimodal inputs at the sentence level. The move towards multimodal dialogue signiicantly increases the complexity of the system as the representations of the input now range over time and input modality. We developed a framework to addre...
متن کاملAn Experimental Study on the Informational and Grounding Functions of Prosodic Features of Japanese Echoic Responses
Echoic responses, which reuse portions of the texts uttered in the preceding turns, abound in dialogues, although semantically they contribute little new information. Earlier, we conducted a corpus-based analysis on echoic responses occurring in real-life dialogues, and examined their informational and dialogue-coordinating functions in connection with their temporal/prosodic features. The pres...
متن کاملScorekeeping in an Uncertain Language Game
Received views of utterance context in pragmatic theory characterize the occurrent subjective states of interlocutors using notions like common knowledge or mutual belief. We argue that these views are not compatible with the uncertainty and robustness of context-dependence in human–human dialogue. We present an alternative characterization of utterance context as objective and normative. This ...

First, we introduce the concept of intuitionistic fuzzy group congruenceand we obtain the characterizations of intuitionistic fuzzy group congruenceson an inverse semigroup and a T^{*}-pure semigroup, respectively. Also,we study some properties of intuitionistic fuzzy group congruence. Next, weintroduce the notion of intuitionistic fuzzy semilattice congruence and we givethe characterization of...
